The “Tanim sa Bahay Challenge” is an extension of the original “Tanim sa Bahay Initiative” of the College of Agriculture and Agri-Industries, better known as the CAA-TBI. The goal is to ensure food supply especially among the marginalized people in peri-urban areas amidst the CoViD-19 crisis in the Caraga Region (visit this site for more information: http://caagri.weebly.com/news--events). With the increasing rate of the CoViD-19 cases in the country, the Philippine Government placed the entire country under National Health Emergency. This led to declarations of community quarantine and lockdowns, tying the residents to their homes. The sustained rate of increase in COVID-19 cases triggers the uncertainty when this health crisis will end and everything will come to places again. Thus CAA is launching the “Tanim sa Bahay Challenge Students Edition”, a competition open to all CAA students to allow them to put their knowledge into action and promote Sustainable Agriculture.
Good luck CSU-CAA Students! #CAA_CARES
Food security has always been the challenge not only in the Philippines but even at the global level. The pressure to produce food for the people is even greater during these trying times. Hence, the CAA is putting up a challenge for all CAA students to help in growing food for the community. This challenge is an opportunity for the students to apply and practice the knowledge they have learned in classes and showcase what really Agriculture is. This is also a chance to inspire the Generation Z to take part in the reconstruction of the Agriculture Industry. JALangres
